legian is a long straight street that connects to seminyak. so the length from the main street of Legian to the main street of seminyak is around 1 miles.

This really depends on various things - are you travelling by day or night in a taxi or on a scooter did you take a clever short cut without ending up behind a funeral procession travelling at walking pace, etc..... I seem to remember a 45 min drive at good speed with minimal traffic at the time (Sept 2009) - at least this is the absolute fastest it will take to get from Ubud to Sanur, Kuta or the airport. I'm afraid that the worsening Bali traffic has increased the drive time from Legian up to Ubud. It can take quite a bit of time just to get out of Seminyak/Legian, and then you may have to get through Denpasar as well! If you have a flight to catch I would allow a minimum of 1 1/2 hours, just in case. Also, if you are going to take a taxi, always get a Bluebird taxi in Bali, as they are much more courteous than the 'freelancers' or drivers from other companies.
