However the numbers are low and although they are in there they are not naturally found there. they where stocked originally into Cataract Dam in the late 1800's from the Murrumbidgee River along with Trout Cod, Golden Perch, Silver Perch and western strain Macquarie perch. Over time there were escapees when the dam would overflow and they spread throughout most of the Hawkesbury - Nepean system including the wollondilly river as this was before the construction of Warragamba Dam.
