According to the official Colorado State website, local government officials can serve 2 terms if those terms are longer than 2 years; 3 terms if the terms are for 2 years or less. This comes out to be between 6 to 8 years, depending on the length of the term. Furthermore, according to BallotPedia.org, Article XVIII section 11 of the Colorado Constitution states that "no elected officials of government ... shall serve more than two consecutive terms in office, except with respect to terms of office which are two years or shorter in duration, no such elected official shall serve more than three consecutive terms in office." So 8 years is the maximum number of years that a person can be a mayor in Colorado.
