The amount it time it takes for recovery really will vary based on the persons physical condition, and type of surgery that was preformed. Most people i read recover within 6 to 8 weeks, but that still all depends on how invasive a surgery they had. But recovery time should generally be in and around that ball park

However Patients are recommended not to engage in any exertion or aggressive exercise for at least two weeks following surgery as this may cause the gastric band to slip from its position around the neck of the stomach.
The Gastric band will require a fill after 2 weeks to ensure that the band is adjusted correctly and working properly with regular fills and checks at six monthly intervals for at least 1 year with periodical checks thereafter.
