During the first two to three days after Rhinoplasty surgery, the face will feel puffy, the nose may ache, and you may experience a dull headache. You should plan on resting with your head elevated for the first couple of days. There will be swelling and bruising around the eyes, reaching a peak after four days. Some patients also get very swollen lips and cheeks including difficulty smiling. All these symptoms will subside within 3 weeks of the nose procedure.

By the end of one week all nasal packing, dressings, internal and external splints and stitches from the Rhinoplasty should be removed. You will feel substantially better in your second week of recovery.

Your nose heals in stages after having undergone rhinoplasty.

For the first week you have to wear a splint to protect the nose as it will be fragile. For the first and second week you will be swollen and bruised however this peaks at around day 3 or 4 and you can see it getting better from there.

However by this stage your nose hasn't completely healed, swelling that may not be noticable takes up to a year to fully heal.

So I think the answer you're looking for is aroung 1 year although you'll see satisfying results within a couple of months.

Rhinoplasty healing process normally takes 2weeks for bruising to almost completely subside. 4 weeks for swelling to mostly go down meaning you can see what your nose will roughly look like. After 6 months the swelling should be gone and the nose is almost completely healed but there can still be some changes. 12 months after the rhinoplasty your nose should be completely healed.

What are the reasons to consider plastic nose surgery?

There are several reasons why someone would consider having a plastic nose surgery (AKA a nose job). One reason is because it would cure a condition of the nose, such as a deviated septum. One may also consider a nose job for cosmetic reasons.

Is the recovery of a nose job the same as if you broke your nose?

Nasal surgery must result in swelling and bruising. The eyelids are easily bruised and swollen with very little trauma. Individual swelling and bruising will depend on the problem treated, surgical techniques needed, after surgery program, and how your tissues heal. External splint and sutures are removed 8 days after surgery. Yes, because in most cases (especially bumps on the nose or hooked nose) the surgeon will break the nose first.

How expensive is plastic surgery for your nose?

I have looked into this. It is around $5000.00. Expect to pay a pretty penny and the pain and recovery are very long and extreme. It all depends on what you have done. You can get deadly bacteria injected into your face to paralyze your muscles, which in return reduces the appearance of wrinkles.
