Answer 1: At most regionally-accredited schools in the United States (US), an associates degree -- designated as "Associate of Arts" (AA), or "Associate of Science" (AS) -- consists of sixty (60) "semester credit hours" (if the school is on the "semester credit hour" system), or ninety (90) "quarter credits" (if the school is on the "quarter credit" system), either of which may be completed in two (2) years of full-time study.
At most US regionally-accredited schools, "full-time" study means either 30 semester credit hours (if the school's on that system), or 45 quarter credits (if the school's on that system) per year... accomplished either during the normal semesters or quarters, or during those plus summer sessions.
A small number of schools require a tiny bit more credits for an associates. Some (again, a small number) of schools on the semester credit hour system require 66 semester credit hours of study in order to earn one of their associates degrees; and an even smaller number of schools on the quarter credit system require as many as 94 to 98 quarter credits in order to earn one of their associates degrees. But, again, such schools are in the minority. At most US regionally-accredited schools, either 60 semester credit hours (if that's the system the school is on), or 90 quarter credits (if that's the system the school is on) will earn an associates degree.
Most US regionally-accredited schools, just FYI, are on the semester credit hour system.

It really depends on what degree level you are undertaking. An Associates degree typically takes two years while a Bachelor's usually takes four years. This is assuming you are going to school full time.
Typically, the associates degree is designed as a two year program of study, provided the student is full-time, and takes the program as prescribed by the college. One thing that might prolong the degree is basic skills testing. If the test indicates the student must take some refresher courses first, the degree can take longer.
If you are transferring within the same field, it typically takes two additional years provided you continue your program of study as prescribed by the college or university.
With the Associates degree you could work in a long term care facility as the admissions coordinator, administrative assistant but in order to actually be the administrator you would need your bachelors degree. You can look on line and it should tell you more of what you can do with the Associates degree.
To obtain a bachelors degree, it takes four years. An associates and masters degree takes two years. Most Associates' Degrees take between 22-26 months, Bachelors' Degrees take between 38-42 months (although a completion program would average about 22 months) and Masters' Programs take about 16-18 months.
Typically, the associates degree is a two year program of study provided the student takes the degree as prescribed by the institution.
An associates degree takes approximately two years, and a bachelors four years as a full time student, and provided the student takes the degree as prescribed by the college or university. Both degrees are considered undergraduate degrees. If one already holds an associates degree in a transferable program within the same field of study, then the bachelors should only take an additional two years.
