After hip replacement surgery the patient can stay 3 to 4 days in the hospital, after that they will be release to go home if they have someone who can assist them. If they do not have assistance at home they will be sent to a rehabilitaion center.
It depends about which type of hip replacement we are talking. There is a short and a long time recovery which also differs from patient to patient. It can take from 4 weeks to 6 months.
Probably patient will need to stay in the Hospital for 2 to 3 days after appendix surgery, provided there are no post operative complications
Minimally invasive back surgery should be a relatively low risk procedure. However, as with any surgery there is always a risk of infection in the wound, or a reaction to the anesthetic. There is also the risk of a DVT developing after surgery should the patient remain immobile for too long.
It is possible. It is always up to a doctor to ultimately determine if a person is eligible for gastric bypass surgery or not, but the fact that a patient is a vegan (as long as they are still relatively healthy) should not be an affecting factor on the decision to have that type of surgery or not.
The patient can expect moderate swelling, stiffness and limited mobility in the operated foot following toe surgery, sometimes for as long as eight to 12 weeks
What do I need to do before surgery? What type of anesthesia will be used? How long will it take to recover from the surgery? When can I expect to return to work and/or resume normal activities?
When planning for a thyroidectomy, a patient should ask how long the recovery time will be. It is also important to know what medications will be given before and after the surgery.
Most patients can go to work the following day, although some may need an additional day of rest at home.
A final eyeglass prescription is usually given about four to six weeks after surgery.
Depends on the type of surgery, the narcosis, the patient, and the postoperative medication. It can be hours, but might be days. Morphine and lookalikes tend to slow the digestive system down (though newer derivates should be better).
