it takes about 2 to 3 hrs,but have your head remilled or else head will warp or leak
No
The only repair is to replace the head gasket.
How do I change the head gaskets on my 1998 ford explorer?
Blown Head Gasket or Bad Cylinder Head
Well, my 1998 Chevy Cavalier is getting its head gasket replaced as well as the water pump for 250 dollars at the local college by mechanic students.... ( They charge the part, plus 10 percent labor to fix it )
You may have a bad head gasket and it may be leaking from that. Why when cold i dont know, but if you are losing coolant it may be the head gasket.
Remove the head and replace the gasket. No other way to fix it.
Timing not set up properly
Removal of the timing chain cover, timing chain, and head are needed
The head gasket seals between the head and block. The head gasket is inside the engine, up high.
You can change the head gasket by removing the valve cover. Remove the gasket and clean the gasket surface. Put the new head gasket on the cleaned surface.
It requires replacing the head gasket.
