How long to do you have to starve to be anorexic What are the eating patterns?

I was diagnosed with anorexia last month. It is not about "how long" someone starves or "how much" they weigh, but about their mental state. Anorexia is an ILLNESS, a MENTAL DISORDER. If you are worried about someone, talk to them, what is their attitude to food? Do they contantly watch diet/fitness programmes? Are they very evasive/defensive when you talk to them?
Many avoid eating in front of people throughout the day, always finding excuses. Think how much you have actually seen them eat that day, unfortunately you cannot trust what they say.
If it is yourself you are worried about then i am pretty sure you are not anorexic as someone who truly is would never know or suspect it, but would think they are eating normally and everyone around them is not.
Simply starving yourself does not make you anorexic.

ummm anorexic people dont tend to throw up after they eat, they usually go for long periods of time not eating,bulimics puke after they eat if you just eat normally and dont try to starve yourself or anything like that, mabe you are just naturally thin

If you only eat that for a certain amount of days, then yes. You will also starve all they long, won't be able to think about anything else but the sound that your starving stomach makes and end up looking like an anorexic. Also, you will quickly gain back that weight once you start eating again.

What could make an anorexic person healthy again?
As anorexia is first and foremost a mental illness, it must begin with that person changing their mindset. The mistake that most mental health services make, but unfortunately have to make if someone is in a critical position, is that they immediately jump to changing the anorexic's food patterns, which can be extremely stressful but also physically painful. Through continuous therapy, regular eating behaviours, as long as the anorexia sufferer is motivated and determined to help themselves, there is no reason why they can't make a full recovery. Like anything, it just takes hard work.
