hmmm... im 16 and i met my current boyfriend of 20 off the internet. i let him hit second base the second time we met. its no big deal really if the love is there. which it certainly is. it all depends on if you feel comfortable with it. Same thing for guys.

If you are underage, then you should also not do anything you are uncomfortable with. However, additionally, you should respect your parent's input on this. I know you may feel you are an adult, but you are not providing for yourself, and even those over 18 must respect the wishes of those providing for them.
You should understand that situations can quickly escalate and get out of control. So if you are at second base, you may find yourself being pressured - or even forced - to other "bases" that can be very distressing. To say the least.
Given what is involved in second base - touching of the privates - I would tell my daughter that a length of time dating measured in months would be appropriate. I'm sure guys "like" girls who do it sooner better, but they do not "like" them for long.
Remember the wise words of Mr. Thackery in "To Sir, with love": "No man likes a slut for long, and only the worst sort marries one."
Better to be regarded as "hard to get" then...well, you know the terms.
