He was in office for four years.
President John Knox Polk didn't live for very long after his presidency- he died in 1849, about 100 days after leaving office. His home was in Nashville, Tennessee, and that is where he was buried.
Polk Place was the house that Polk had built for himself and his wife in Nashville. He died soon after he left office, so he did not enjoy his new house for long, but his wife lived in it for many years.
for 4 years
The exact cause of his death is not known. Cholera seems to be a good possibility, He suffered from diarrhea, intestinal cramps and general weakness which became progressively worse. He had a long record of intestinal problems and was not in the best of health for the young man that he was.

No- conditions in the US mostly got worse after Polk left due to increasing conflict over slavery which eventually led to a terrible Civil War and a long reconstruction period. A series of four weak presidents before Lincoln did not help matters.
2 or 4 years or check website bye
I can find no record that James Xavier ever held public office.
whilie in house, those were eight. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, Andrew Jackson, Jonh tyler, James Polk, Zachary Taylor, Ulysses Grant. Impossible. How could Grant have owned a slave while in office? The Civil War was over and the slaves had been freed long before he was president.
He was in office from 1833-41. Haha from ash
he did not have time to do much since he left office on March 4, 1849 and died on June 5, 1849. He did make a month-long tour of Southern states. In fact, he may have died from cholera that he contracted in New Orleans.
No. Tyler became President a long time before Van Buren died. In fact. Tyler died about 6 months before Van Buren died. (Tyler became president immediately after President Wm H. Harrison died. )
