If you put 15,000 miles per year on the truck and you do regular maintence, it should last you for 15 years. I've seen fleet owners get a million miles out of the 6.8L Triton V10s and the 5.4L Triton V8s. And that mileage in 15 years barely touches the million mile mark! It's definetly one of Ford's best engines ever! TOTAL MILEAGE: 225,000 MILES.
Ummmm. The Ford 7.3L is an International built engine. Ford has used international built diesel engines sense the beginning with the 6.9L IDI up until 2012. The last engine international built and Ford put in their super duty's was the 6.4L. In 2012 Ford said bye, bye to International due to the horriable 6.0L and just as bad 6.4L engines that still have problems to this day and went with a all Ford built 6.7L which is proving to be bulletproof like the old 7.3L's were back in the day.
New Ford trucks run from about $23,000 (F-150 XL) all the way to well over $50,000 (Super duty, Raptor, Lariat, etc.) Used are not cheap either, but they are built to last.
Normally they will last the life of the engine and are replaced during an engine rebuild.
The last model year for the full size Ford Bronco was 1996 . The Ford Bronco NEVER used the 4.6 liter V8 engine
Normally it will last the life of the engine.
Sure but it won't last long stock. If you want to have forced induction you should rebuild the engine with a forged crankshaft, connecting rods, pistons, etc.
Absolutely , the engine in a 2004 Ford Explorer needs an engine oil filter ( or your engine will only last a few seconds while the oil pumps out on to the ground )
( 1996 ) was the last year the Ford F-150 could be had with the 4.9 liter / 300 cubic inch straight six cylinder engine
2003 was the last year for the 7.3 Diesel. Best diesel engine ford ever put out.
The engine number (the last eight numbers of the vehicle identification number) is stamped on the engine block, transmission and frame.
You do not have to change the timing chain. It is designed to last the life of the engine.
Well, the Super Duty range consists of the F250 through F750, so they haven't yet.. it's currently available in the F450 through F750. 2010 was the last model year when it was available for the F250 and F350.
