Depending on conditions cardboard, in a normal garden environment will decompose in a few months. If shredded or mulched and properly treated, in about three months.
Kept dry, stacked with little surface area exposed and away from soil, then it could take many years.

It all depends what conditions it is in. If you leave it outside the whole time, rain will surly rust the trucks, bolts, and nuts. If you use it too much, the board will begin to snap. It all varies on how much it has been used, or how long it has been outside.

It depends on the mass of the cardboard

I did an experiment and found out that in 2 weeks cardboard's mass decreased 0.04g so if a piece of cardboard has the mass of 0.40g it'll take 20 weeks.

I put that piece of cardboard in a landfill and put water in it 1 time

It depends on the conditions. It Takes About 2-3 months depending on the environment.

It takes 4 wks for a cardboard box to biodegrade!
