How long will it take to be a game maker?

Well, it depends on how much effort you put in..........

The more effort you will put, the more experience and skills you will get, and the more professional game creator or maker you can become.....

It took me, just 15 days, to professionally adopt this art...

If you wana create games, then you must start from using and learning the following:

1). YoyoGames Game Maker (a must thing)

2). Adobe PhotoShop (or anyother image editor and creator)

3). Game Maker Forums (www.forums .yoyogames.com) - here you can ask others for help.

4). YoyoGames official tutorials (yah! they give a great start!)

5). And offcourse, the manaul (help file), that comes with game maker.
