That depends which bone in your leg is broken. They may just put a cast on it and give you crutches then send you on your way, if its your femur or its broken in multiple places it could be a different story.
Unless there are complications that require hospitilazitation, then you don't usually have to stay in the hospital for a broken arm. They X-ray the arm, then apply the cast, then after the cast has set (hardened), you are released, and allowed to go home. They may give you something for the pain to take at home though, along with instructions such as don't get the cast wet, elevate the arm on a pillow to help the pain, etc.
It depends on the age that they are, and also the severity of the hip that was broken.

I have a broken leg right now and i was scared to go into the hospital. When you are there and you have your cast on or your operation done its ok. If you need anything you just ask the nurse. If your in school and have a broken bone then everyone is really nice but they would be a bit shocked if you had crutches.
NO!
