Between 15-20 hours. Everything depends on weather. At least it was in my case. It took me 20 hours to paddle 62 miles across.

If there were no bridge connecting upper and lower Michigan, it would be almost 1,000 miles to get from Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Detroit, Michigan by traveling to the east around Lake Huron. It a person traveled around Lake Michigan to the west, it would be over 1,000 miles.
Roughly estimated, it's 1500 miles. So if you can kayak 20 miles a day (which would be impressive) it would take 75 days to complete. Then again if you add in the factor of ocean currents carrying you farther out into sea, I'd add about another 75% of that estimate. That puts you at about 130 days.
You would find a Kayaker or an Eskimo paddling in a kayak.
You would have to drive through: Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan. Or drive across the bridge in Sault Saint Marie into Ontario and follow the water to Windsor, then cross the bridge/tunnel into Detroit.
There are 1,053 air miles between Midland, Michigan and Orlando, Florida, and the driving distance is 1,258 miles. The trip by car would take 19 hours.
To travel to WHERE?
From Trenton, New Jersey, it is 604 miles to Detroit, Michigan. It would take eleven hours.
Yes, Kayak is reviewed by travelers! It is a great place to trust reviews. I would book a hotel through Kayak.
wasps can nest anywhere so they can nest in your kayak
a canoe would be better but you can if its an open one (where you sit on top) or in a double kayak
The closest Ontario city bordering Michigan is Sarnia, so the distance from Grand Rapids to Ontario (Sarnia) would be approximately 182.34 miles.
I would call it a Vessel.
