Under the ground (down VERY far) there are things called magma chambers. Inside them is magma (obviously). There are tubes leading out of this. When the earths tectonic plates shift the magma chamber is disturbed and magma comes up through the tubes (the tubes are naturally formed). When the magma comes up to the earth's surface it is called lava. Lava turns to a rock like substance when cool and after many "eruptions" it builds up to form what we know as volcanoes.
The molten rock inside the Earth is called magma. When magma reaches the surface, it is called lava.
Magma is just lava inside the earth, and lava is just magma outside the earth.
Magma is lava underneath the earth. The tectonic plates of the earth float on it.
When magma erupts on to the earth's surface it hardens and forms new land.It depends on if your talking about magma or lava, lava is on the surface of the Earth and magma is inside (underground).
No. Magma is molten rock inside the earth.
As with all volcanoes deep in the Earth through a weak spot in the earths crust magma was leaking. A thick plug of solidified rock at the top of the volcano blocked the magmas exit. As the pressure increased so too did the exclusivity. Minor earth tremors shook the city, an indication that rocks were being fractured deep below due to the rising magma. When the magma could be contained no more Vesuvius exploded and as the magma was high in silica and thus extremely viscous the magma had turned not to lava but to foam.
Liquid rock on the surface of the earth is called lava.
Melted rock below the surface of the Earth is called magma.
magma is a layer of earth surface.Or the hot layer of earth. P.S I am not sure of the answer
Magma is fluid molten rock that exists under the Earth's crust.
Magma is under the surface of Earth's crust. Rocks on earth's surface are well ... on Earth's surface. Magma is also molten rock, not solid rock like the rocks on earth's surface.
Magma is molten rock beneath the Earth's surface, while a magma chamber is a reservoir where magma is stored before it rises to the surface as lava. Essentially, magma is the molten rock itself, while a magma chamber is the space within the Earth where magma is stored.
