* Mini grinder or a sealable plastic bag

* Mica

* A powder binder

* Eye shadow container

* Spoon

After selecting your different shades of micas, use the mini grinder or the plastic bag to mix the different shades together.

TIP: Metallic shades, like silver and gold, go wonderfully with primary colors, like blues and browns and mauve shades

Take your time grinding up the mica and see which different shades you like with which different color combinations. Once you discover your "perfect shade", work on grinding larger amounts together.

Next, pour the ground up mica into a bowl and make sure that the colors are mixed up thoroughly. Be on the look out for dark streaks that may need any additional mixing. Once that is done, spray a powder binder on the mica. This will help keep the minerals on your eyelid once the makeup is applied.

Lastly, scoop the minerals out from the bowl and then place them in an eye shadow container. Use a spoon to then pack down the mica and allow your minerals to dry before use.

Do It Yourself Lipstick

For making your own lipstick, you will need quite a few different ingredients:

* Carnauba wax

* Castor oil

* Beeswax pearls

* Vitamin E oils

* White mica

* Iron oxide

* C and D pigment

* Grapefruit seed extract

* Lanolin

* Natural flavor oils

* Lipstick tubes or small jars

* Quick read thermometer

Start the process off by placing just under 3 ounces of castor oil into a small pan on the stove. Then, mix in 0.08 ounces of a mixture of iron oxide, mica powder, and pigments D and C, looking to create a shade of lipstick that you would like to wear. Once you have found the color, add 0.35 ounces of white mica to help adjust the shade or to create a more frosted look.

Keep the ingredients on a low heat setting. Warm up the ingredients together and ensure that all of the powders are completely mixed and ground up before putting them into the pot. Start slowly adding half an ounce of beeswax pearls to the pot and stir continuously. Then, add in half an ounce of carnauba wax, again taking care to continually stir. Next, add in about 0.05 ounces of vitamin E oil and another 0.15 ounces of lanolin, and then stir well and heat to about 170*C.

Remove the ingredients from the heat and add in just a few drops of the grapefruit seed extract, and a few drops of natural flavor oil. After mixing this well, pour your lipstick into lipstick tubes or pots, allow it to harden, and voila! You now have your very own homemade lipstick
