Not very many, although we can't really be sure. According to federal law, there can only be 302 general officers on active duty in the Army. Of them, 49 may have three or four stars, and 253 may have one or two stars.

As stated in the United States Code, the number of four star generals has a limit in every department. For the US Army, the maximum is 230, Air force totals to 208, and for the Marine Corps is 60.
There are only 43 Lieutenant Generals in the US Army. They command at the Corps level, and serve as staff at the Pentagon. We have been unable to find a comprehensive list, as they are generally listed in their individual chains of command.
1 . . . Brigadier General 2 . . . Major General 3 . . . Lietenant General 4 . . . General 5 . . . General of the Armies

As of October 2023, the United States has had a total of 12 four-star generals, not three-star generals. Some notable four-star generals include George Washington, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Colin Powell. If you meant three-star generals specifically, the list can vary over time due to promotions and retirements, so it's best to refer to the most current military records or announcements for an updated list.

I'm not sure what you're trying to ask. 1. There is no navy army. 2. The navy has admirals, not generals. 3. There are too many variables involve to answer this.
alot IMPROVEMENT The Union Army of the Potomac suffered 2,246 killed, of which 2 generals, 12,073 ,wounded, of which 2 generals, 3,383 prisoners , of which two generals. The Confederates suffered about 7,800 dead and wounded, of which 3 generals killed and 4 wounded, plus an undefined number of prisoners and missing.
As of a count earlier this year, 7. I don't know the break-down among Brig. General, Maj. General, Lt. General, 1 Lt. (3-star) General and at least 2 Maj. (2-star) Generals. I'm assuming the rest are Brig (1-star) Generals, but I could be off on the exact numbers. I would look at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH, for more information about them. I know at least 2 are stationed there, 1 Lt. General and 1 (newly-pinned) Maj. General. The 1980 class of the Air Force Academy Colorado was the first to graduate women and is the main source of Generals. As more women graduate into the officer ranks, we will see more and more Generals in time. Only the US Army has a 4 star General at this time.
Yes...im looking at one.
