Approximately 4,000 US Servicemen died in the insurrection. About 1,000 men were killed in actual combat, the remaining died by disease. This contrasts with the Spanish-American War of 1898 (which spawned the Philippine violence): Less than 500 US Servicemen died in that 5 month long war, and over 2,000 men died from disease.

As per the gathering of historical records in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, it might be accurate to say that there were close to 6 million Filipinos who died.
