No. The Russians were forewarned of the attack. They created strong, interlocked defensive positions, to a depth of fifty miles in the threatened area. They allowed the Germans to blunt their weapons on the defenses, then went over to the counter-attack. The Russian counter-offensive beginning at the end of Kursk kept rolling until the Russians were in Berlin. After Kursk, the Germans never had the strength to mount another major offensive. It was their last grab for victory, but it still took nearly another two years to completely defeat the Nazis.
