If it has one it would be located on the reverse side of the coin just above the letter "D" in the word "DOLLAR". The mint mark "S" is for San Francisco, California. The mint mark "CC" is for Carson City, Nevada. If there is no mint mark the coin was struck at the mint in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Very easily. The first Trade Dollars were minted in 1873. If your coin says Trade Dollar on the back and is dated 1797 it is a counterfeit. The market has been flooded with counterfeit dollars, some very good, some laughably bad with impossible dates, designs, or mint marks.

The US Mint did not produce any Trade Dollars in 1870. Mintage for the Trade Dollar began in 1873 and ended in 1885. If you have a trade dollar perhaps it is from a different country.
