VP or Vandal Patrol is a group of Supervisors on WikiAnswers who combat vandalism and abuse happening on the site. There is no master list of Vandal Patrol Members open to the public. Anyone with the badge on their profile for: Site Guardian, Alternative Specialist, Site Investigator, VP Generalist are apart of VP. The coordinators of the VP program are: Neroxnex and Fish247. You can always contact Vandal Patrol by emailing: vandalpatrol@wikianswers.com
No, spamming is unacceptable here on WikiAnswers. In fact, there is are group of people here called Supervisors, and their jobs is to get rid of spam on the site and block any person who violates the rules. Plus, some Supervisors become on the Vandal Patrol which is a gang of Supervisors, that look on various questions and message boards looking for spam and inappropriate language. If you like spamming sites, let me tell you, that WikiAnswers is not a good place to do it. If everyone were to create an effort, this site would be the most helpful question and reference topic site on the web.

Supervisors are a special group of users on WikiAnswers who have special powers on the website. Supervisor powers include the ability to merge questions, set question alternates as the primary wording for questions, and the power to block users who are making counterproductive edits to the wiki. Supervisors are users who have demonstrated that they are trustworthy editors and have contributed many helpful answers to WikiAnswers in the past.
There aren't really "administrators" on WikiAnswers, there are Supervisors and Community Assistants. For information on how to become a member of each group, see the related questions below.
The Supervisors group has grown tremendously since the program existed. As of May 1, 2010, over 900 supervisors are constantly editing, answering, and recategorizing questions every day. See the Related Question to see the list of supervisors.
Not all WikiAnswers are wrong, but sometimes the questions are. This is an example of one of those. The answers that are wrong are usually that way because of vandals and trolls who come on WikiAnswers and give nonsense answers because they believe it is fun. Although WikiAnswers does have a program called Vandal Patrol, a group of supervisors devoted to removing nonsense and troll-tracks, many WikiAnswers contributors do their part in reporting vandals when they discover them.If you do find an answer that is wrong, the best thing to do is to edit it to make it correct (the assumption being that if you recognize it is wrong, you will know the right answer). Failing the editing or addition of a new answer, just remove the bad answers. We WikiAnswers contributors are doing our very best to try to keep vandals at bay, and give the right answers. We apologize for any wrong answer given on the site. Be assured that it will be fixed as soon as it is reported or discovered.
Special Patrol Group ended in 1986.
WikiAnswers contributors are volunteering their time and answers. In general they are a nice group of people with diverse backgrounds and professions who mostly answer on the topics they are interested or know about. You may find now and then some vandal or malicious contributor replying nonsense, these usually are not registered contributors and are identified only by their IP or are registered but have 0 recommendations. However you may find good contributors signing only with IP and newly registrd contributors with no recommendations yet. WikiAnswers has also different levels of contribution: * Non registered contributors (identified by IP) * Registered contributors (identified by a username and who can receive recommendations by their good work) * Supervisors (trusted registered contributors) * Supervisors with system administration capacities Registered contributors will often look up for cleaning Q&A from vandals and incorrect answers. Supervisors will watch over some topics trusted to each one of them and will try to keep those topics accurate and vandal-free. System supervisors will look that Supervisors are doing their work. So, it is fair to say that if you get an answer and that answer is still there after some days, it is a knowledgable answer. (Nevertheless, because of free contributions and vandalism, accuracy at a given time cannot be guaranteed and to check the answer to your question after a while is recommended)
We come from all over the globe. We are a varied age group, with different levels of education and knowledge. Supervisors are usually nominated by existing supervisors, because their contributions make them worthy of 'promoting'. I wasn't even aware my activities were being scrutinised until I was asked if I'd like to become a supervisor.
The WikiAnswers Community Outreach program is a group of members made up of both Supervisors and Non-Supervisors, called WikiGuides. WikiGuides' roles are to help in creating a warm and friendly community environment through performing various community actions. Community Actions include greeting new contributors, offering to help them learn their way around the site, and inviting them to participate in special site events.
