In 2009 the The RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) investigated 141,280 cruelty complaints; and collected and rescued 135,293 animals.
So in England and Wales in 2009 135,293 animals went to the RSPCA because their owners abused them or because they where abandoned or feral.
It is highly possible that eventually they will leave their owners.
According to information shown on a nature channel, every ten minutes two animals die because their owners abused them and/or left them to die. hopes this info helps you. :)
Unfortunately possibly hundreds of thousands.
Dogs, Cat, horses, and farm animals are the most abused because there owners have yet to take good quality care of them if you are going to get a dog cat or animal get a rescued animal you might of just saved there life
Because there owners are sick jerks. Abused* Why do pets get abused? Sorry for the constructive criticism.^^
By owners it would be dogs, and cats. (mostly) others are abused too. But by animal testing its monkeys and mice, though other animals are badly tested on too/
I think the most reason that animals are abused is because humans don't relize that they are abusing the animal and because when an animal does something wrong the owners take it way to far and end up beating them. Some people think that animals are dirty mongrels and they don't belong on this earth so they beat them and neglect them.
Well stray animals are usually abondoned by the parents or abused or neglected by their former owners so sometimes they wind up with no owner because they are at a shelter waiting for a home right at this minute!
if discovered, the owners are prosecuted and the animals become homeless, though there are a number of foundations that will house them and give them for adoption.
Animals get abused by their owners because their owners have no respect for them they are really STUPID for doing that to their animals animals should be givin the right to Do something back to their owners. By Joel dushane
Who are "they"? "They" (the ASPCA) usually thank you for adopting an abused shelter animal. It is not illegal to own an abused animal. In some jurisdictions it is illegal to abuse an animal. The laws vary from place-to-place and change over time. The laws also vary in definition of what constitutes abuse.
because sometimes owners forget about their animals or they have uncomfortable homes or they forgot to feed their animals
