Over several I suppose if they learn to achieve something.
Unfortunately very few. A tiny percentage show remarkable abilities in a certain field but that seldom, if ever carries over to other areas and they are an exception rather than a the rule.
Firstly, it's offensive for you to imply that autistic people are abnormal - autistic people are different to neurotypical people, not less than. A person is born autistic, it is not something that happens to 'normal' people or something that you turn into, you are always autistic.
Autism is a neurological variation so primarily the brain is effected by autism, an Autistic person has an Autistic brain. Autism also in turn effects the nervous system, and some Autistic people have digestive health problems too.
Listen to autistic people - even those who are mildly effected know more about what it is to be autistic than a neurotypical parent. Also remember that how someone is affected by autism and the severity in which they are affected varies throughout their lives so it may well be the 'passable' autistic adult was once severely effected when they were children. Your child will also be an adult at some point, adults who have already been through this are your greatest allies. Do not listen to Autism Speaks - this organisation does not speak for autistic people and are known to be openly prejudice against autistic people, they use harmful rhetoric about autistic people to increase their profits which in turn causes a lot more ignorance and prejudice towards autism. Autism Speaks are considered a hate group by most autistic people and autism allies.
the best way would be. "I am sorry but I am going out with XYZ."
Autistic people tend to have lower levels of melatonin, the chemical responsible for telling the body to sleep. Autistic people also tend to have executive dysfunction issues which means that they have problems planning and implementing; they may struggle to maintain a daily routine such as going to bed at a certain time, they may struggle to recognize when they need to sleep, and they may get caught-up in what they're doing. Many Autistic people also suffer issues like sensory problems which can make sleeping uncomfortable due to weight or feeling of the bedding or increased awareness of light or sound in the bedroom. Autistic people may struggle to 'turn off' at night or may suffer mental health problems such as anxiety which could lead to sleeping problems too.
it causes the color of the leaves to turn brilliant colors
Autism cannot be cured - Autism is a neurological difference, not an illness to be cured.A person is born Autistic and remains Autistic their entire life, just as someone who is born Caucasian cannot be 'cured' of being Caucasian. Autism is a neurological difference, you cannot get rid of Autism in a person without changing their brain, which is simply not possible.
It brings awareness to the community that this is a growing issue in our society. It provides resources for families to find providers for their children to get the treatment they need to make improvement. They contribute a portion fo their funds to a local organization in the area where they have their annual walk that focuses on the treatment of autism. They are the nation's largest autism science and advocacy organization, dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism; increasing awareness of autism spectrum disorders.
