Penguins lay 1 egg a year.
every year during mating season they find there mates or get new ones if they can't find their old ones and mate and have a baby penguin.
Penguins usually have up to only 2 penguins but most of the time only 1 penguin, because it takes a big responsiblity to watch that egg for 5 months and keep it warm, most eggs freeze.
Like all birds, they lay eggs. For more information about penguin reproduction, see 2005 documentary "March of the Penguins."

onePenguins lay eggs, they have chicks, not babies. And they only lay one at a time.
They have 1 baby ever winter, so it really matters how long the penguin lives.
