According to the ancient Greek historian and traveller Herodotus 100,000 slaves toiled for twenty years to build the Great Pyramid of king Khufu. Modern estimates put the number at 20,000 to 30,000. Some say that they were all slaves; a mixed workforce of skilled workers and slaves; or skilled workers and peasant farmers conscripted during the inundation of the Nile when work on the land was not possible. Take your pick.
There are many different theories about the purpose of the Great Pyramid. Along with not being able to conclude absolutely who built the Great Pyramid, mankind also does not understand why it was built. Many believe that Pharaoh Cheops (or Khufu) built the Great Pyramid for his tomb around 3350 BC, because many of the other pyramids in the area have been found to be burial chambers for the various kings of Egypt. Now, there are some that believe the Great Pyramid monument was a time capsule left by an advanced civilization. There may have been some leaders of this civilization wanted to leave a message to future civilizations. Others think it was some civil service project.

It is generally accepted that the Sphinx was built by Pharaoh Khafre - c2575 to c2465 BC - during the Old Kingdom, the age of the great pyramid builders. However there is possible evidence that the monument may be older than this for an inscription within the Great Pyramid, dating from 600 BC, records that Pharaoh Khufu-Khafre's father-carried out repairs on the Sphinx's tail and headdress.
The builders were constrained by the resources that were nearby each build site.(study island)
I don't know this answer but i can tell you that more than 10000 people built the pyramid which were the bani Israel (the slaves of the pharaoh)
It all depends on the size of the pyramid. The ancient greek historian Heroditus (c.450BC) was told by his guide that the Great pyramid at Giza took 100,000 slaves and 20 years to build.
The bent pyramid
Yes, many did. The great pyramid and others that have survived, did so for a reason. Their shape made them more sturdy over time and were not the first design. Many steppe pyramids were built but were too steep and as the corners eroded, the whole pyramid fell under its own wieght. They were built too steep and did not have the base structure as seen in the great pyramid.
