The only difference is the dohc engine has 2 camshafts, an intake and an exhaust camshaft. A standard 2.0 has only 1 camshaft. Many dohc engines also have 4 valves per cylinder whereas a 2.0 sohc generally has 2 valves per cylinder.
yes,the exhaust camshaft is belt driven, and drives the inlet camshaft by chain inside top of engine
Double overhead camshaft
Camshaft position sensor of Mazda Milenia 2,5L DOHC is inside ignition distributor (the same part with iggnition comutator).
The cylinder head, is the part of the engine that contains the valves/ports that control air/fuel in and out of the engine. They are mounted on the engine block, over the cylinder/pistons. DOHC and SOHC have the camshaft/s mounted on them.

The camshaft position sensor is located beneath the wheel on a 1998 Ford Taurus 6 cylander Dohc.
2000 SEwhat year do you have, and do you have a 3.0 liter 12 valve engine, or a 3.0 liter 24 valve DOHC engine?12 valve
The 1996 Ford Mustang Cobra has a 4.6 Liter DOHC (Dual Overhead Camshaft) V8 engine. This engine is capable of producing 305 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque.
dohc is better
how can i tell sohc or dohc
SOHC stands for Single Overhead Camshaft and DOHC is Double Overhead Camshaft looking at the top of the motor it will have the corresponding abbreviation of what type you have. The camshaft is what opens and closes the air intake and exhaust valves at the right times to coincide with the pistons moving up and down. Besides the obvious distinction between the two engines where the SOHC only has one cam and the DOHC has two cams, the DOHC produces more power. Much of what gives an engine more power is efficiency and airflow. Being that the DOHC has two cams it also has two valves for air intake and two valves for exhaust (where the SOHC only has one valve for each) which makes the intake system and the exhaust systems more efficient and more effective thus producing more power. As a side note, because the DOHC produces more power they usually get a few more miles per gallon of gas.
