Great question! The Biblical church is not founded in a building so that would mean 0 real churches close each month. However; what I think you're asking is "How many US 501.3c corporations pretending to be Christian churches stop doing business trade each month?" And that number is probably very high!

About 4,000 churches close their doors each year. As of 2013, there are fewer than half of the number of churches than there were in 1914. While many small churches are closed, there are many more larger churches. The actual population of Christians has increased.

It is not possible to give you an exact figure. Many churches in America leave their doors open everyday. The churches who do close their doors, sadly, have to close them because of the criminal types who like to come into churches to steal money, computers and other items. Some unruly people will actually vandalize a church, so churches in areas where crime happens often are forced to lock their doors. They make a buzzer or door bell available to people so they can let the people inside know they want to come inside. Some churches choose to leave their doors open even at the risk of the criminal element doing the churches harm. Pegalita, Master of Divinity

Are there less churches than there was 40 years ago?

Yes. Many churches, temples and mosques are closing down for many reasons including the rapid decline of believers as more people demand sold evidence, which can be gained from science. Also the recession is also making it financially difficult for churches to keep their doors open. Some churches, particularly within Europe, have been forced to close by governments due to violations of Human Rights (sexism, homophobia, etc).

Do fire doors in hotels close when a wall alarm is broken?

There are many different kinds of fire doors and not all of them are tied to the alarm system. Some fire doors will only close when there is enough heat to sever a fusible link. However, as a general rule, automatically closing fire doors that are latched open with electrical controls would release the latch and close the relevant fire doors upon triggering of the fire alarm by any initiating device.
