An American Bar Association study over 10 years ago put the number at 20 million.

Oooo, I just took a test on this last week. I`m in 8th grade =P this should help... In the late 1800s, giant corporations had control over many businesses. Many leaders abused their power. Theodore Roosevelt was a trustbuster but was not against big businesses. He knew the difference between good and bad trusts. He filed lawsuits against companies that spread corruption which was happening often.

my landlord files too many lawsuits in retailiation against person(s) that have filed HUD complaints against it company. Is there a law against how many claims a company can bring to court, especially if they are fraudalent claims?

There is no definitive answer to the question as there are multiple venues for lawsuits to be active in at any given time. One would need to research the statistics for the state they are interested in and the type of lawsuit that one is referring to, ( civil suit for debt, personal injury, etc.).

The only option for stopping a lawsuit and/or obtaining relief of judgments is filing bankruptcy. Otherwise, once a creditor has filed a lawsuit against you and you receive notice of the hearing, or recovered a judgment against you, you cannot stop the process.
