2, Captin and Co-Pilot
On most airplanes there are two seats where the Captain and the First Officer sit. Some airplanes have extra seats in the flightdeck depending on their mission, examples are an extra seat for a Flight Engineer and/or a jumpseat for extra crew or check airmen.
On modern commercial airplanes 2 and then 1 or 2 jump seats.

Up to 50 is allowed by the certificate of the aircraft but usually they fly with 44 passengers at 31 inches pitch. The crew is 1 pilot, 1 co-pilot, 1 observer (cockpit) and 2 cabin crew.
There are so many buttons in a cockpit, nearly no one knows how much buttons there are. There is like a thousand buttons!
