There have been no geographical effects due to the Tsunami in Japan because it is nowhere near it. However, the economic disruption caused by it has affected every country on the planet. So, the economic system of Dominican Republic must be affected by the Tsunami in Japan, even though the effect is very small.
The Japan earthquake and the subsequent tsunami are important because millions of people have been affected by the disasters. Concurrently, the Japanese government is doing everything in its power to keep a nuclear plant from exploding, which would have detrimental effects.
As of 16 June 2011 15,372 deaths from the earthquake and tsunami have been confirmed. It is almost impossible to determine what was the cause of death for each individual. See the related link.
