Have you ever noticed how onions can be many sizes ? 1 chopped onion could be 0.5 cup to about 1.5 cup
I'd go with about 8-10 cups of onion per 48oz batch
Depends on what type of onion; for a regular large white onion, I would say one large one would be sufficient. If it's a smaller (e.g. yellow or red) onion you might want to go with 2 or 3 to be sure.
For a medium onion, figure about a half cup.
i dont know maybe 11
About half of a cup (slightly more, depending on what you call "small"). -Rachel
6 ounces of onion would be equal to 3/4 of a cup. This is because a cup is equal to 8 ounces.
Small onion = 4 ounces by weight or about ½ cup chopped Medium onion = 8 ounces, or about 1 cup chopped Large onion = 12 ounces, or about 1½ cups chopped Jumbo onion = 16 ounces, or about 2 cups chopped
Equivalents: 5 medium onions = 1 pound = 2 cups chopped = 3 cups sliced1 small onion = 1/3 cup = 1 teaspoon onion powder = 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
