I checked the back of a 1 1lb box of confectioners sugar, and C & H said there were 15 1/4 cup servings per box. Do the math and that works out to 3 and 3/4 cups per pound. I also checked the back of a box of the store brand, and the amount came out the same, so it must be a fairly standard measurement.
A 1-pound box of confectioner's sugar typically contains about 3 to 4 cups of sugar. The exact measurement can vary slightly depending on the brand and how tightly the sugar is packed. Generally, you can expect to get around 3 ¾ cups from a 1-pound box.
4 cups equal 1pound of powered sugar. I measured a new bag.

That is 1.8 cups
Approximately 2. cups.

Two pounds of powdered sugar is about five cups.C & H pure cane confectioner's sugar states there are approx. 7 1/2 cups (unsifted) in their 2 lb. package. I needed 5 cups of unsifted powdered sugar for my recipe and it weighed1 lb. 7.5 oz.2 lbs= 7.5 cupsthe bag I buy is 4lbs , so it is half the bag
That is approximately 1.246 cups.
It's one of those funky things that settle after a while, so you can't just measure it and call it done. You'll need a scale.
