im no expert for rabies so DO NOT TAKE THIS EXTREMELY. After getting bite a grown dog, it will take 1~2 days(untill death). But dogs has a ver less chance of having rabies, so there is a great chance of that person not dying.

The incubation period of the rabies is from few days to few months. That means the person can die within few days to few months. The rabies virus comes in the saliva of the animal only few days before the dog dies of proven rabies. So this can happen that the dog dies of rabies after few days and he may not have given you the dose of the rabies virus. In this case the person will not get the rabies. Never the less one must receive the proper anti rabies treatment.
