same as in the northen hemisphere The average time from the September equinox to the December solstice is about 89 days and 20½ hours.
In some Southern Hemisphere countires, it's official that Spring arrives with September. That has the advantage that it puts winter's end at a time when the temperature is similar to what it was at winter's beginning (June. 1 in the Southern Hemisphere--December 1 in the Northern Hemisphere). But many have said that, in the Northern Hemisphere, April feels like the first Spring month. I agree. That corresponds to October in the Southern Hemisphere. By April, it's become warm and sunny, and there is sufficient sunlight to luxuriantly bring back the plant-life.
Many people like to travel to the Southern Hemisphere in the Winter as it is Summer there. The beaches of Brazil make for a great cruise.
There are 365 days in a year. Each season has three months which is usually around 90 or 91 days. Spring has 92 days, (March, April, May). Winter can vary in length depending if it is a leap year, 90 or 91 days. Summer is usually 92 days.
There are 91 days of Spring in the Southern Hemisphere.

The average length of the southern hemisphere winter, or the average time from the June solstice to the September equinox, is about 93 days, 15 hours and 42 minutes. It is the longest season of the year because the earth's orbital speed is slowest when the earth is farthest from the sun, which occurs in early July.
Winter begins on June 21 and ends on September 21 -- as does winter throughout the southern hemisphere.
During the Winter months, in the northern hemisphere. For most of the year , in many places, in the southern hemisphere.

Technically, it is exactly 3 months!from dec 21 or so toMarch 21 or so,in the northern hemisphere. June 21 to Sept 21 in the Southern Hemisphere. Winter is defined as the time when the axis of the earth is pointed away from the sun. I have a degree in geology, this is correct.Hope this Helps x
