It depends on the type of infection. Generally speaking, the average amount of time for the ciprofloxacin to have a noticeable affect on the bodies bacterial micro organism (infection).. Is usually 3 -4 days. With chronic infections such as chronic urinary tract infection it could take up to 10 days to notice an affect. With chronic prostatitis it could take up to 4 weeks of ciprofloxacin to notice an affect.
Always take all medication as prescribed by your doctor even if you are feeling better. Failing to take all medication could result in a resistant strain of bacteria through the process of genetic cell transformation by the way of evolution. And could create a super infection which could be resistant to a few drugs ,entire classes of antibiotics or resistant to all antibiotics with no hope of stopping the infection leaving the only option to take out the infected kidney, bladder, prostate etc. through surgery

∙ 10y agoCipro shouldn't be used orally to treat an eye infection. However, if you use "ciprofloxacin eye drops", it should take 2 days (48 hours) to see an improvment. If your cipro eye drops don't work after 2 days, you should see the doctor again.
