While smoking does not inevitably CAUSE disease, it lowers your resistance and greatly increases the probability that you will get sick. There are hundreds of illnesses related to smoking, from lung cancer to emphysema to Heart disease.
We all die of something; die of something other than smoking. It's a NASTY death.
