Fifty million people died in the European/African theater of the war. Twenty one to Twenty Two million people died in the Pacific Theater of the war. The largest portion of deaths were civilian deaths not military. Some of the deaths were not due to bombing and shooting. A lot of the people died from starvation, disease, exposure, a world wide influenza and torture and murder.
