Unfortunately there is no animal abuse reporting system nationally as of yet. I guess they are working on this. But I did find this website that has many links and pages to go to and learn more on how many are found and what type of animal is involved.
It is noted though that many are found EVERYDAY abused and neglected by owners that just chain up animals and lock them away. Also with our ever rising Foreclosure rates across the United States, there are astounding amounts of animals found left to die in homes that the owners have left the animals behind in each and every state in the United States. Rather then the owners giving them away and/or sending to a shelter.
The types of breeds that are on the rise is the Pit Bull, unfortunately they are used for fighting, the dog ring fighting that is illegal in the United States.
I have owned many a Pit Bull and enjoy the breed they are loving and kind and very loyal and strive to do anything for you correctly the first time.

∙ 12y agoPlenty. If you wach animal planet then it shows you police rescuing dogs and stuff from people that keep them out side all the time. Or they rescue them because they beat the animals.
