that depends on type of stick insect the size of it and if its live birth or laying eggs ..it can be any where from 1 to 50+
Indian laboratory stick insects lay up to 200 eggs. They do not need any surface to lay them on they will just drop them. They take up to 3 months to hatch. It is very likely that some will have to be crushed because they will all hatch and there will be too many to be kept by 1 person. If you plan on selling them they will sell cheapest at 10p.
This depends on the species. For most, there are male and female stick insects, but there are species (like the Indian Stick Insect) that are populated by all females. The female is larger than the male.
Stick insects are insects that are able to disguise as a stick almost perfectly, resting their legs lengthwise down the body. and the antennae straight out. Some stick insects have evolved affected by their habitat, with some being big, green and spiky. The Indian stick insect is the most recognizable and popular as a pet. They are very easy to take care of. You can purchase eggs in many places, but it is best to get them from a trusted company or a member of family/friend. We just called em walking sticks.
Most captive Indian stick insects can and do reproduce in the absence of a male (parthenogenetic reproduction). The insect (female) will lay hundreds of tiny (0.08 inch or 2 mm) eggs over her life. These are smooth and round and must be separated form the feces at the bottom of the cage. Populations of stick insects which still live in the wild in India where the males are much more common breed in a conventional fashion. Here the mail fertilities the eggs and they and while the females can reproduce parthenogeneticaly, there are probably good genetic reasons for this since without normal sexual reproduction the species would be expected to lose genetic diversity over time and therefore be unable to adapt and evolve.
They lay many eggs to make sure some survive to be adults. Most of the young insects do not make it to adult stage.
probably about 260 depends, and they do not eat their young the only thing they can eat is leaves and other thin things like molted skin and i have a stick insect and i don't know if its a male or a female and i found a stick insect on my window wich is gross knowing that theres hundreds more. :/

1,500
3000 species worldwide
It is impossible to say how many individual stick insects are in the world - but there could easily be many millions. As for species, there are at least 3,000 different species of stick insect that are known, but there could easily be more that haven't been discovered yet.
Stick Insects are insects, so like every other insect species, they have six legs.
