Muffins are high in fat and sugars. even the blueberry or fruit ones are using artificial or processed fruit and are no good. as a rule stay away from lighter colored baked goods. try a darker like a bran muffin. personally i don't like them though.
An average muffin has about 70 calories
there are about 120 calories
how many grams of fat is allowable
If I use Safeway's blueberry muffins, with 460 calories/24 grams of fat/1 gram of fiber, I calculate 11 Weight Watcher points. Wow, that seems really high. I rechecked my math and again got 11 points. Here is my math: 460 calories divided by 50 equals 9.2, 24 grams of fat divided by 12 equals 2, 1 gram of fiber divided by 5 equals .2. Add them all together and get 11.4, I rounded to the nearest number of 11. I prefer to make my own blueberry muffins so I can control what goes into them. The recipe at the link listed below only had 6 Weight Watcher points. 230 calories, 8.7 grams of fat and 1.2 grams of fiber. You can further reduce the points by using the suggested modifications at the bottom of the recipe like substitute half applesauce for half the butter. I have tried this and it works great.
