I don't know how many accidents but there's about 43,000 people killed by car accidents per year. Hope that helps.
According to the Center for Disease Control in the year 2000 (the year with most complete data available) there have been 776 fatal and 23,237 nonfatal firearm accidents. This gives us a total of 24,013. CDC has no data on non-fatal accidents in other years, but the number of fatal firearm accidents declined to 642 in 2006.

Many things can cause a fatal injury, from car accidents to sports injuries. Alcohol can increase the risk of fatal injuries, and some professions are more prone to these injuries than others.
While not tallied on a daily basis- at least fifty percent of Fatal ( involving death) automobile accidents have some connection with alcohol use- as determined by blood tests, autopsies, etc.At least half of all fatal auto accidents involve alcoholism as a direct or proximate cause. I have no idea how many can be directly traced to fatal- dis-traction of cellphone or other message-device traffic.
