13,000 Ft or 3 miles down. Makes you think how much of our world is underwater. The Titanic was found at a depth of 2.5 miles (4 kilometers). "deep" is a relative term. In some areas of the world water wells are drilled to over 3,000 feet down. However in many places water can be found between 40-100 feet. In my area of western Canada most groundwater is found between 25 and 250 feet. Not many wells are over 250 feet deep, but there are some down as far as 800 feet. It needs a very powerful and expensive submersible pump to bring this water to the surface.
The Titanic was found in 2 pieces. The bow and the stern about 1/2 mile away
