Feeding by a flake and quart or scoop method is very incorrect and can cause weight and health problems in horses. A horse should be fed based on it's body weight, typically 1.5% to 3% of it's bodyweight. The horses height really plays no part in assessing the amount of food the horse needs. As an example a 1000 pound horse would need 15 to 30 pounds of food a day (1.5% to 3%). The majority of it should be forage such as hay or grass and if the horse needs the extra calories, then a grain or pelleted feed can be added.
the exact same way you feed your horse other food too. you just hold your hand flat.wait for the horse to sniff and let it eat.i just love the feeling when the horse eats the food out of my hand and it tickles.
This is almost impossible to answer because there are not enough details. There are many factors that go into a feeding program. What is the breed of the horse? How big is he? A 14.2 horse will probably not eat as much as a 17 hand horse. What is his activity level. Is he in a big pasture with plenty of grass? On average a 15.2 hand horse will eat 3-4 flakes of good quality oat hay, alfalfa maybe a little less, grass hay a little more.
Hand feed and Brush your horse everyday. If you want you can let your horse outside when the weather is Sunny.
You can find out by clicking the feed tab in the top left hand corner of your horse's page.
Grain milling is a process of grinding grain to produce flour. For this process we can use hand operated grain mills also known as hand grain mills or electric type mills that are semi-automatic.

If you must feed them together make sure you provide the calves with a trough or feeder that the horses cannot get their feet or mouths into. This is for safety reasons as a horse could get it's leg trapped in a feeder and break it or ingest cattle feed which is unsuitable for horses in most cases. Horses may chase the calves off of hay or grain so you must keep an eye on them at all times when feeding them together, if a calf does not give way a horse may attack or even kill it. You could bring either the horses or the calve inside during feeding time or even build a 'feed pen' for the calves where they can go to eat and the horses cannot bother them.
A horse hand is 4 inches
A hand is what you would use to measure how tall your horse is. One hand=exactly 4 inches and 10 cm. You can buy a measuring tape with hands on it at your local feed store or co-op, or any tack shop.
To tame a horse, right click the horse with no items in your hand. Eventually, the horse will not through you off and you can press 'E' while still on the horse to access the horses inventory and attach a saddle or armor. To speed up the taming process you can feed the horse golden apples, or golden carrots, but that is purely optional.
The height of a horse is determined by the number of hands he is from the ground to the top of his withers. The king of England decided to measure them that way, so he measured a horse with the width of his hand, 4 inches, so each hand is four inches. Say a horse was 16 hands high. That horse would be 64 inches high. if you are measuring a small pony, you just measure from the ground to his withers in inches.
