Three lines total. Two fuel lines, one feed, one return and one EVAP (Evaporative Emission Control System) line.
power steering line adaptor assembley
Follow one of the posotive lines from the battery, they go right to the starter.. once you find it, raise the car up somehow.. you'll see it
The fuel pump will be located on the left front side of the engine, right behind the harmonic balancer. The power steering assembly will have to be removed to gain access to the pump. It will have three lines going to it, and two bolts holding it on.
Drain the radiator by removing the lower hose. Then remove the fan shroud then the oil cooler lines and upper hose/ Then the bolts that hold it in and pull it out. Dispose of the used coolant properly.
check radiator for small leaks or cooling lines which would most definitely cause it 2 steam when running after awhile
It is located in the fuel tank.. you must drop the fuel tank.... disconnect the fuel lines and vapor lines... pull the sending unit/pump assembly out, replace the pump and the sock filter, then put everything back in reverse order..
To change the fuel filter on a 1996 Cadillac DeVille with a Northstar engine, first, ensure the vehicle is turned off and relieve the fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump relay and starting the engine until it stalls. Next, locate the fuel filter, which is usually positioned along the fuel line under the vehicle. Disconnect the fuel lines from the filter using appropriate tools, then remove the filter from its mounting bracket. Install the new filter in the same orientation, reconnect the fuel lines, and replace the fuel pump relay before starting the engine to check for leaks.
lines connected
On my 4.6 litter 1996 Deville, the EGR valve was located on the upper back driver's side corner of the engine, a few inches away from the brake reservoir. It was absolute pain to remove because the fuel rail lines pass over the EGR mounting bracket. Be careful that you do not dislodge a fuel injector trying the replace the valve; note that you'll probably need to to disconnect the fuel lines to get them out of your way, which requires a special tool (or three hands).
A union
no
Depending on the make & model of car, some fuel pumps come as complete assemblies(pump & sending unit) Often the fuel lines are rusty and sending unit will have to be replaced if lines break or leak. If car is older and in rust prone area, sending unit fuel lines could be bad. This does not answer question, but i hope it will help.It depends on what kind of vehicle it is.
