3000 gallons
To know for certain, you'd need to measure your water flow from your faucet at the rate it was turned on, but if its a newer faucet, then if you have pretty good water pressure (60 psi), the faucet will only flow at 2.2 gallons per minute. Thus if you had the faucet fully open for seven hours you may have wasted as much as 92 gallons.
The faucet itself does not use any water. The rate at which the water leaves the faucet is dependent on the make of the faucet.
On average, a faucet can use about 1.5 to 2.2 gallons of water per minute when running. This can vary depending on the flow rate of the faucet and whether it is a standard faucet or a water-efficient model.
You should look and see where the faucet is leaking. Many Price Fister faucet parts are sold at lowes.com. There may be a simple solution to your leaky faucet maybe just replace a part instead of purchasing a whole new faucet.
If a pool was leaking for 12 hours and leaked out 78 gallons of water in total, then it would of leaked out 6.5 gallons every hour. This is a math problem.
Zero, unless you needlessly leave the faucet running while you brush. In that case, it completely depends on the flow rate of your faucet.
An average kitchen faucet uses approximately three to five gallons of water per minute. The average person uses around 50-gallons of water every day.Ê
If the faucet leaks one ounce of water per minute, it would waste 60 ounces in an hour and 1,440 ounces in a day. This would amount to 43,830 ounces in a 30-day month and 525,600 ounces in a year. Since 1 gallon is equivalent to 128 ounces, the leaked water would amount to 4,110 gallons in a year.
It depends on how big the leak is, but if it is a dripping leak, one drip at a time is lost, then between 1 to 10 mL can be lost depending on how fast the dripping is, in a minute, and after about 10 minutes, a whole graduated cylinder can be filled, and even a water bottle. If the leak drips very fast, then a lot of water bottles can be lost within a couple of hours, and if left unchecked for a while, buckets and buckets can be filled from a whole month of a leaky faucet.
Well, considering that you don't turn on the water while you're brushing, and only turn it on to fill your cup, and rinse your toothbrush, I would say probably 1-2 gallons wasted. Of course, this is only an estimate, and I can't back this up with statistics and such, but I'm sure this is somewhere close to a definite answer. :)
bone dry to FULL would take 49.45 gallons so almost 50 gallons. unless of course your sink was leaking while you were filling it like sometimes my does.
