god promised he would never flood the earth again!
Matt promised Israel that he would find a way to keep his family together and take care of them after Israel passed away.
AnswerThe Israelites believed that God had made a promise to Abraham that his successors would inherit the land of the Canaanites. This would have included other, non-Hebrew people such as the Arabs, said in The Bible to be descendants of Ishmael, so the promise or covenant was later refined to include only the descendants of Israel.
In Genesis God states to Noah "I am going to make a solemn promise to you and to everyone who will live after you. This includes the birds and the animals that came out of the boat. I promise every living creature that the earth and those living on it will never again be destroyed by a flood. The rainbow that I have put in the sky will be my sign to you and to every living creature on earth. It will remind you that I will keep this promise forever".
yes. God promised Abraham, the father of Israel, that the land was his. Therefore, since God promised Abraham that his seed would inherit, Jews believe that Israel is theirs based on God's promise. Either they inherit, or God is a liar, take your choice. The land grant was never recinded.

that they would promise to obey the laws we have made
Interesting question.. Why did the Israelites feel so strong about the promised land? You will find your answer written in Genesis 17 where the promise of that land was given to Abraham as a covenant made between Abraham and our Father. That covenant passed from Abraham to Isaac, and would have passed from Isaac to Esau, but Esau sold it to his younger brother Jacob - Israel. It would later pass from Israel to the younger of Josephs sons Ephraim (Genesis 48). Further you will discover in Jeremiah 24 that Judah (one of the 12 tribes of Israel) was prophesied to return to that land. An event which came true in 1947-48 when the state of Israel came into being.

If it's part of the title it does. Like Han Dynasty has to be capitalized but if I were to say that 500-year dynasty in China, it would not.
