In 2008, a Wal-mart employee was trampled to death by a stampede of 2,000 shoppers as she opened the door. The shoppers were not concerned about the employee. Police had to be called in with riot gear and pepper spray to control the shoppers so paramedics could reach the employee. She was crushed to death by the time they managed to reach her.
