your farm will let you start to open your gifts from under your tree on Christmas (Dec. 25), until that day you can only look at your wrapped presents by clicking on your tree and then clicking on "look inside". when Christmas day comes you can start opening your presents your farmville friends have sent to you. the presents don't just appear in your "gifts", you have to click on your Christmas tree and click on "open gifts" one at a time, then they will appear in your "gifts". presents have to be given to you by your farmville friends, and if they don't then you have no presents.

To give them gifts hold the gift in your hand and talk to them. However, you must give them 1 gift every day (sometimes every 2 days depending on the person) or they will not accept it. There is a way to get them to accept it, when you give them the item and they say "Oh no I couldnt" or something like that you have to do that for the next 2 days and they will accept it on the 3rd day.
